Dedicated to serving Haitian immigrants and other underserved communities, LAS aligns its work with the E70 IRS Activity Code, focusing on public health initiatives that address critical health disparities.

Our Services Include:

Health Education

Offering culturally tailored health education programs targeting Haitian immigrants and other underserved communities to promote healthy lifestyles.

Conducting workshops on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and nutrition tailored to community needs.

Developing and distributing multilingual health education materials in Creole, English, and French.

Disease Prevention

Collaborating with local health organizations to provide screenings for hypertension, diabetes, and other prevalent conditions in vulnerable populations.

Organizing vaccination campaigns to ensure community members are immunized against preventable diseases

Promoting awareness campaigns on infectious diseases and preventive health measures.

Health Policy Advocacy

Advocating for policies that address social determinants of health, such as housing, food insecurity, and access to healthcare for Haitian immigrants and other underserved communities.

Partnering with local and national organizations to push for equitable healthcare systems and reduced barriers to care.

Conducting community forums to amplify the voices of underserved populations in health policymaking.

Community Health Services

Assisting clients in navigating the healthcare system, including securing Medicaid, Medicare, or other health insurance.

Helping individuals schedule and attend medical appointments while providing interpretation and cultural mediation support.

Coordinating mental health workshops and referrals to address the stigma and challenges around mental health in immigrant and underserved communities.

Case Management

Providing one-on-one support to individuals and families in accessing healthcare, housing, food assistance, and other critical services.

Helping clients navigate complex systems, such as immigration, legal, and social services, to ensure they receive the support they need.

Developing individualized action plans to address specific needs and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.

Culturally Appropriate Interventions

Developing initiatives that respect cultural beliefs and practices, ensuring that programs resonate with Haitian and other underserved populations.

Offering ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to bridge communication gaps and improve access to healthcare and employment.

Public Awareness and Outreach

Hosting health fairs and events to engage Haitian immigrants and other underserved communities in health promotion activities.

Running social media campaigns to disseminate important health information and resources.

Research and Needs Assessment
