November is Diabetes Awareness Month!

Diabetes Month Picture

Diabetes remains a critical health issue in the U.S., affecting around 38 million people, or about 11.6% of the population. Of these, more than 8.7 million adults remain undiagnosed, highlighting the importance of awareness and screening.

Diabetes is prevalent in older adults, with 29.2% of those 65 and older affected. Prevalence varies significantly by race and socioeconomic factors, with higher rates among American Indian, Alaska Native, Black, and Hispanic populations, and those with lower educational levels and income.

Small lifestyle changes can make a big difference, and every voice counts in spreading hope and education. Let’s work together to spread awareness and encourage positive lifestyle changes to combat this critical health issue. Every voice counts in building a healthier tomorrow!
