Dr. Lukenson FRANCOIS is a passionate health leader and a fervent advocate for health equity and social justice. He has been working for more than twelve (12) years in the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation, and delivery of primary healthcare through different regions in Haiti (North, North-East, North-West, Artibonite, West and Grand-Anse). He graduated in Medicine from the State University of Haiti in 2009 and has extensive experience in HIV/AIDS, emergency care, project management, and community mobilization. He obtained specific training in Canada in sustainable development, mental health, and family health. Dr. FRANCOIS has a specialized graduate studies diploma in Health Services Management and Administration from a program jointly developed by the State University of Haiti and the University of Montreal (UdM). He also obtained a master's degree in health systems administration and policy at Montclair State University, U.S.A., with a Fulbright scholarship received from the Institute of International Education (IIE). Dr. François has built up a strong management background through the implementation of diverse projects and programs in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and a set of organizations in multiple relevant sectors in Haiti. In the U.S. he has been working with the most vulnerable communities, namely immigrants and LGBTQ+ people to uphold their rights and facilitate their access to health and health-related resources.
